Minecraft 1.4.2 – What’s new?

This update is called the “Aquatic Update.” Naturally, we will talk about new sea creatures, biomes, and objects, and properties of water in Minecraft 1.4.2. This is only the first part of the water update.

Biomes

This update has supplemented the aquatic world of Minecraft with several new biomes at once: corals, frozen oceans, kelp, and this is not the whole list.

Coral

While sailing on a boat in Minecraft 1.4.2, you may notice whole frozen oceans, icebergs. If you lower your gaze to the seabed, you will often notice colorful plants – corals. These types of plants can be great for decorating your home.

Kelp

Also, often in Minecraft 1.4.2, there will be green long plants, the name of which is kelp. You can even cut down these plants with your hand. After drying them in the oven and getting dried kelp, you can use them as food. Dried kelp has the fastest eating speed in the game.

Sunken ship

The last new generation in Minecraft 1.4.2 is a sunken ship. It can be very useful to you since you can find from 1 to 3 chests on it, the production of which depends on the chest’s location.

For example, a chest found in a hold usually contains food, and in the upper part of the stern – all kinds of valuable resources. The third chest can be located in the captain’s cabin. The chest located in the captain’s cabin contains a treasure map to help you find the buried treasure.

Mobs

The underwater update in Minecraft 1.4.2 also affected mobs. The developers from Mojang added dolphins, tropical fish, salmon, and blowfish to the game. By the way, you should beware of the latter, as it can poison you.
