Download Minecraft 26.40.31 (1.26.40.31) APK if your worlds live on servers: this beta takes the arrow killer out of mob farms and cuts the stall on the way into a dedicated server.
What Minecraft 26.40.31 fixes
- Arrows of Harming are removed on hit instead of bouncing off, so the arrow killer stops working (MCPE-239756).
- Several gameplay crashes are gone.
- A wrong device tier on some phones kept Vibrant Visuals switched off (MCPE-239742).
- Joining a dedicated server by URL no longer multiplies the NetherNet check timeout by every IP in the DNS record.
Arrows of Harming stop farming mobs in Minecraft 26.40.31
An Arrow of Harming used to bounce off its target and stay in the world with full damage, so one shot could grind through mob after mob. Now the arrow lands, deals its damage and disappears like any other arrow.
Why the arrow killer disappeared
The trick was never intended design. It only worked because of a deeper flaw in how the projectile system handled its sub components, and Mojang chose to repair that system rather than keep exceptions alive, so the arrow killer went with it.
What this does to existing mob farms
A farm whose kill floor is one permanent Arrow of Harming stops producing drops in Minecraft Bedrock 26.40.31. Spawning and collection still run, only the kill step breaks, so those builds need another way to finish mobs.
Crash fixes and Vibrant Visuals in Minecraft Bedrock 26.40.31
The crash fixes arrive without a named culprit, so read them as broad stability work: fewer sessions cut short in the middle of a build or a server night.
Vibrant Visuals returns on misread Android devices
Each device is sorted into a hardware tier, and that tier decides which graphics options appear. Some phones landed below their real class, so Vibrant Visuals never showed up. With detection corrected, those players can switch the lighting upgrade on.
Dedicated servers connect faster in Minecraft 26.40.31
When you join a dedicated server, the client asks whether it speaks NetherNet, and that probe should give up after three seconds. It did not always stop there.
Why the three second timeout stretched
Three things had to line up: you connect by URL rather than a raw IP, the hostname resolves to several IP addresses, and a firewall drops the probe packets instead of answering. The timeout then applied per address, so three seconds became three per entry in the record.
What multiplayer players notice
One overall three second limit is now enforced, so the wait on the connecting screen shrinks back to a blink.

Download Minecraft 26.40.31 APK to watch the new arrow rules in your own farms. This is a beta, so MCPE players get the fixes while they are still under test. Builds from this line sit on the download minecraft pe 1.26 page, and older ones in the minecraft bedrock download section.
Minecraft PE 26.40.31 costs you one farm trick and pays back sessions that hold together on servers.
