Sulfur Cube gets a major rework

Sulfur Cubes can no longer pick up more than one item at a time on their own, and the bug where they kept floating after absorbing a block that should sink them is finally gone. Magma Sulfur Cubes no longer damage Netherite Armor, shields no longer block their damage, and Fire Resistance now properly protects players. TNT Sulfur Cubes can be ignited by Magma blocks or by another Cube carrying one, and angled knockback now works correctly when attackers sprint, swim, or use Knockback-enchanted weapons.

Player Waypoints and UI fixes

The Locator Bar toggle on the Create New World and Edit World screens has been replaced by a Player Waypoints setting. You can switch between “Off” to hide all players on the locator bar, or “Everyone” to show them — a much clearer system than before. The annoying freeze when opening a furnace without recipes is fixed in Minecraft 26.30.29, and a Realms crash triggered by Clear All Members no longer happens.

Sulfur Caves, Potent Sulfur and Cinnabar

Sulfur Caves now spawn more sulfur pools and generate with all features intact even when exposed to the surface. Sulfur Spikes finally grow over time, and Sulfur and Cinnabar block textures were updated to match Java Edition. Potent Sulfur particles travel higher and are no longer blocked by neighboring blocks, while Noxious Gas particles now darken based on surrounding light. Potent Sulfur can no longer be moved by Pistons or Sticky Pistons.

TNT, projectiles and add-on news

TNT blocks now show smoke particles when ignited, which makes traps and redstone contraptions easier to read. The Custom Projectiles experiment has been released for general use, and a long list of waypoint and dimension APIs moved into stable @minecraft/server 2.8.0 for add-on creators.
